20th DDPI seminar, ‘The “Honour Male” Problem: Exploring the Background of Elite Women’s Criticisms’.
The DDPI project will hold a series of seminars intermittently on topics such as policy solutions to disparities and inequalities and the potential of digital technology for this purpose (digital democracy).
The 20th seminar, entitled “‘Honourary Men’ Problem: Exploring the Background of Criticism of Elite Women”, featured Professor Ayaka Suzuki, Associate Professor of Humanities and Sociology at the University of Tsukuba. Professor Suzuki specialises in sociology and gender studies, and her research focuses on social movements and feminist movements. This time, she spoke about her empirical and theoretical research on bashing targeting elite women, with ‘honourary men’ as the keyword.
