15th DDPI Seminar on Voting Rights Guarantee and the Future of Electronic Voting in Japan.

The DDPI project will continue to organise a seminar series intermittently in FY2022, while focusing on policy solutions to disparities and inequalities and the potential of digital technologies for this purpose (digital democracy).

The 15th seminar, entitled ‘Voting Rights Guarantee and the Future of Electronic Voting in Japan’, will invite Professor Kazunori Kawamura, Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Tohoku University, to discuss electronic voting in Japan, mainly from the angle of voting rights guarantee, and to explain non-technical issues and what is needed to overcome these issues, based on various surveys and actual initiatives in Tsukuba City. He spoke about non-technical issues and what needs to be done to overcome them, mainly from the perspective of ensuring voting rights, based on various surveys and the results of actual initiatives in Tsukuba City.
